The Conference “Old Age - Between Tradition and Modernity” promoting the BALL Project was held in Lublin on May 22, 2015

The conference arose much interest in our local environment, several eminent guests participated, among others: Monika Lipińska, deputy mayor of Lublin for Social Policy, Henryk Smolarz , MP, Deputy President of the Commission of Senior Policy, Sławomir Skowronek, president of the Lublin Centre for Civic Activity, the President of the Polish National Bank, Lublin Branch, representatives of the Craftsmen Union, president of the College of Social Workers, representatives of NGOs, representatives of 18 universities of the third age from the Lublin region and the whole country.

The Third Steering Committee Meeting and the Second Expert Meeting of the BALL -Be Active through Lifelong Learning- Project was held at the Lublin University of the Third Age, with the participation of the following institutions: Evris Foundation from Iceland, project coordinator; the University of Alicante, represented by the Permanent University (UPUA), from Spain; U3A Reykjavik, from Iceland, and LUTW from Poland.

The U3A and Evris delegations delivered the mapping reports recently published. The Minister expressed her appreciations with the results presented and the issues discussed as being high on her agenda.
